Remember the snake? The BIG, poisonous, now dead snake? We found him down Constellation Road. We found lots of other great things too. Actually, Daddy & J found them when they were deer hunting a couple of weeks before our trip, but they were new to the Pickle and me!
One of my favorite things about the Wild West is all the history that is hiding out in the desert. Check out this very cool mine entrance . . . the sign says "Keep Out Keep Alive." Words to live by. Amen.
That's Daddy looking like he's pondering the difficult questions of our age.
I took this through one of the windows in the little house. If you click on the photo, it will enlarge and you can see J and Pickle down in the creek. I think they're throwing rocks. Have you ever thrown rocks into a creek? There's just nothing like it. Especially if you're two. Or thirty-something.
There were lots of these little guys living in the little house. The windows nearly all had their original glass and a few even had makeshift screens. The shelves built into the corners were still in place and there were two small wooden tables in the front room.
This is the 'lock' on the front door.
Miss Pickle and me after our picnic lunch on a sandbar by the creek. If you tell her to say 'cheese' for a photo, this is what you get--the ASL sign for cheese. Does that count as bilingual?
I love taking upstream photos of creeks and rivers. Do you see the baby waterfall? It's between those two rocks on the right.
Looking upstream from where we ate lunch.
I love taking photos without looking through the viewfinder. I'm so glad this one turned out.
There were a couple of other fun finds that I (of course) took photos of that I'll post later this week.
Hope yours is off to a great start!
