Homeschool

I went to University with the goal of becoming a Kindergarten teacher. I proceeded to teach 2nd grade & Reading Intervention for ten years. It wasn't until the fall of 2011 that my dream of teaching Kindergarten came true with my own little girl. At home.

Our reasons for homeschooling are varied and many. Our frustrations are real. Our days are not perfect, nor are they 'traditional' as compared with institutionalized education here in the States. Meg spends lots of time spinning and swinging between short lessons that, when we are diligent don't last much past noon. Our afternoons are spent outdoors, crafting or cooking together. Though not perfect in any way, our days end in gratitude that we are free to learn together at home, making education our life and life our education.

We believe in Miss Mason's ideal that 'Education is an Atmosphere, a Discipline, a Life'. This is our main goal in our girl's education.
