Jess brought these little water bottles for the girls. The caps don't come off! Whew, one more choking hazard avoided . . .
Oh, just a little tractor! I think these are the type Heath and his brothers use on the farm!
At the 'Farmer for a Day' display, Pickle got to harvest fruits and veggies.
Here she is digging a . . .
Potato! There were oranges, corn and eggs to harvest and put in her basket as well.
After they finished, Sweets & Pickle decided to check out their bounty.
"Aah." says Pickle. "An orange. I like oranges."
"Hmmm. This seems different than at home."
"Maybe I need a bigger bite." Don't worry. I finally stopped taking pictures in time to stop her before she bit off a hunk of rind. She did leave a perfect little impression of her mouth full of teeth!
MMMMM . . . Fresh squeezed lemonade from the fair. That's probably my favorite thing to get a the fair, well, next to Kettle Corn. I think Pickle may agree!
See how Sweets is checking things out from the corner of her eye? This is her trademark. She's always checking someone or something out from the corner of her eye.
Look at Jess--I think the corner of the eye thing must run in the family!
Someone please remind me not to have Heath take our picture again. My Pickle is reduced to nothing more than a small slice of forehead, nose, lips and chin. It's almost like she got splinched, poor thing.
Just across from the Farmer for a Day exhibit was an exhibit of baby farm animals that were in cages right at the girl's level. They loved this area. Here's Pickle with some piggies.
Sweets thought she'd just climb in and join them!
Isn't this the sweetest thing? Ever? Pitter-pat, pitter-pat goes my proud Mamma heart!
I think this is my favorite photo from the whole day! If you know anything of my absolutely strange love of incubating and hatching baby chicks, you'll understand why the fact that they didn't want to leave the chicks stole my heart for the afternoon!
After checking out all the animals, we went to grab a snack (and some Kettle Corn, of course). Jess found the girls a bubble machine to watch while the Daddies got us some very greasy curly fries.
After our snack, the girls were ready for some Daddy time. Can you believe my girl is so big already? I can't.
Sweets was just getting over a stomach virus and by the end of the day, she was ready for some snuggle time with her Daddy.
I hope you enjoyed tagging along on this long trip to the County Fair. Don't worry, I know the 'rules' about post length and holding your audience's interest and all. But really, if you made it this far, it just goes to show: You love the County Fair too!
