Then and Now

October 31, 2009

It would appear that it has been a whole month since I last posted on 9-7-09. I have to say I don't feel bad about that at all. Although completely unplanned, I really needed this break.

I have so many things rolling around in my brain that I'd like to post about, but we'll have to see.

I need to update my photography blog with a photo-journal of our trip to Colorado over Fall Break. The cutest little k ever who is now (over) three months old and the Three Sisters need to make an appearance there as well.

I have lots of sewing planned as well as lots of knitting finished that just needs photographed.

Our fall/winter garden needs replanted since some little critter(s) decided to eat each and every seedling to the ground.

Hmmmm . . . so much to do and so little time.

Halloween in Chickenburg

I took the Pickle to Chickenburg on Friday to go trick-or-treating with her cousins, Punky and Buckaroo. It was fun to go through the neighborhood where I used to go trick-or-treating as a kid.

Here's our crew: Pink Butterfly, Fire Fighter and Knight in Shining Armor.

This expression is just too funny!

Our tough girl Fire Fighter!

Our hero, the Knight!

They get into their parts so well . . .

Check out that pot belly!

Sweet hearts, loving cousins, sister-friends. Just like their Mammas.

Sunset in the Wild West

We spent the evening before and the afternoon of Easter out in the desert between home and Chickenburg. Most of the family was camping out; we opted out in lieu of going to church on Sunday morning.

Papa H. has a Joyner (souped up golf cart type thing) and we went out for a ride on Saturday evening a little before sundown.

These are my favorite shots.

Whenever you're out toodling around in the desert, you're bound to run into one or two of these guys.

And at least one of these. Remember: always close the gate.

One of my favorite things about the desert is how a dead looking plant can put on such beautiful leaves and flowers overnight.

I love the way the sun glows in this one . . .

This one too . . .

Finally, I love the silhouette of the saguaro cacti at the crest of the hill.
